SNSD, KARA, BoA, and TVXQ perform at Japan’s ‘FNS Music Festival 2011′

On December 7th, SNSDKARABoA, and TVXQ attended and performed at the 2011 FNS Music Festival, one of the biggest and most prestigious year-end musical events in Japan.
Performing in front of the Japan’s top stars and artists, SNSD, KARA, BoA, and TVXQ delivered impressive stages that showcased why they’re at the forefront of the Hallyu wave in Japan.

KARA to storm Japanese year-end awards shows

After a fruitful year of promoting in Japan, girl group KARA will be performing at five different Japanese music festivals.
Including ‘Best Hit Song Festival‘ that took place on the 24th of last month, KARA will have attended five musical festivals by the end of the year.
The girls will be attending Fuji TV‘s ‘FNS Song Festival‘ that is scheduled to take place on December 7th for four hours starting at 7PM. This particular event is not an award ceremony but rather a celebration amongst the artists and the outstanding performances are especially impressive.
Furthermore, the girls will also be performing at Asahi TV‘s ‘Music Station Super Live 2011‘ on December 23rd. This format of this event will be exactly like weekly program ‘Music Station’ but it will have a more concert feel, where the stars as well as the fans can both enjoy themselves.
And on the 30th, KARA will be attending an important award ceremony. KARA’s “Go Go Summer” has been nominated for ‘Best Project Award’ at the 53rd annual Japanese Record Awards and the girls will be going up against nine other teams including TVXQ as well as AKB48.
On December 31st, the girls will be rounding out the year at the 62nd annual NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen, competing against Japan’s most elite artists. It was the girls’ dream to compete in the Red & White Singing Battle since they first made their Japanese debut, and their fans already have high expectations for their performance at the event.

Gyuri & Bada attend the “200 Pound Beauty” press conference

On December 5th, the musical “200 Pound Beauty” held a press conference  at the Chungmu Art Hall in Seoul.
The stars of the show, Lee Jong HyukOh Man SukBadaKARA‘s GyuriJeon Hye SunKim Tae Gyun, and Im Hyung Jun made an appearance at the press conference.
Based on the movie “200 Pound Beauty”, the musical is a romantic comedy about a talented overweight singer who is hidden behind the stage due to her weight but makes a 360 degree transformation.
This musical received much love since it’s opening in 2008. It even won 4 different awards at the 3rd The Musical Awards.
Meanwhile, “200 Pound Beauty” will be playing at the Chungmu Art Hall from December 6th to February 5th, 2012.



KARA’s Nicole to make a cameo in “My Way”

KARA‘s Nicole will make a cameo in Jang Dong Gun & Odagiri Joe‘s film “My Way“.
“My Way” revolves around the story of a Korean man and Japanese man and their 12,000 km (7,500 mile) journey from Japan all the way to the shores of Normandy during World War 2.
Director Kang Je Gyu, who has close relations with Nicole, asked her to make a cameo in the film. Nicole’s role is that of a athletics federation press information clerk. Nicole makes her appearance in the scene in which Chosun’s marathon hero Son Ki Jung enters on Jun Shik‘s (Jang Dong Gun) rickshaw. Apart from Nicole’s cute appearance that she has shown through the stage, Nicole shows a completely different side to her as she looks more mature dressed in a business suit.
Nicole said, “I was so nervous that I wondered whether or not I could do it. But the atmosphere of the film site was very happy so I was comfortable. In particular, Kim In Kwon sunbaenim taught me what to do in detail up to every hand gesture. I was so thankful.
Meanwhile, KARA has been gaining momentous popularity in Japan with their album Super Girl‘ breaking records. “My Way” will make its way to theaters across Korea on December 22nd and will open in Japan in January of 2012. As a key member in the Hallyu phenomenon, Nicole’s cameo will add on to what the movie has to offer.

KARA’s Goo Hara brings back the ‘butt dance’ for Snickers CF

KARA‘s Goo Hara has brought back the infamous ‘butt dance’ from “Mister” for Snickers‘ new CF!
The commercial starts with a few guys preparing a defence line against a penalty kick. A tiny Goo Hara starts to wiggle her way in, rear-end first, which causes the team to exclaim, “Who are you, Goo Hara?? Do it right!” A teammate realizes that maybe Goo Hara isn’t thinking properly because of hunger, so he offers a Snickers bar.
After taking a big bite, ‘Goo Hara’ suddenly transforms back into a regular guy, and the game resumes.

KARA’s Park Gyuri wants to drop her ‘goddess’ image + talks about MBC’s new program ‘RoolooLala’

At a press conference for MBC‘s new program  ’RoolooLala‘, KARA‘s Park Gyuri remarked, “I thought that maybe it was time to let go of my ‘goddess’ image“, in regards to the image she has had since KARA’s debut.
But my fans so eagerly want me to keep it. When I told them I wanted to let it go now, they were highly against it. So I just decided to accept it“, she said evoking laughter.
About ‘RoolooLala’, Kyuri said, “These days everyone is so focused on music programs and entertainment shows, but this program is different in the sense that we can share music with people more intimately, rather than on a large stage. We will be able to more effectively touch the hearts of everyday people“.
Rooloolala will be taking the time slot of ‘Cast by the Wind‘ and is a music variety program. The show will select a theme each week and tell stories and put on performances that are in line with that particular theme.
CP Kim Gusan remarked, “Our show doesn’t have a set format and it will be more free-flowing. It will take on different approaches through the music, and it will be more of an entertainment program than a musical one“.
Various stars such as Kim GunmoCho PDKim Shin YoungKim Yong Man, Ji Sang Ryul,Jung Hyung DonPark Yong Guk and G.NA will be guest-starring alongside Park Gyuri, and the first episode airs on December 11th.
