KARA tweets about their first Korean stage since contract dispute

Girl group KARA performed their first Korean stage since the contract dispute with their agency.
On May 28th at the Seoul Sangam World Cup Stadium in Seoul, all five members of KARA stood together on stage at the “2011 Dream Concert“.
After their performance, members revealed their feelings about their first Korean comeback stage through their personal Twitter accounts.

First, Gyuri tweeted, “So touched… Thank you so much to all my people who cheered us on. I will continue to put in effort to become a great singer.”Also, Nicole wrote, “I got to stand on stage for the first time in almost 6 months, I felt the meaning of performing, and I was touched by the many people who came.” She added, “I am so happy that we get to sing and perform in front of a large audience again, and thank you so much for trusting and loving us… We will try even harder. I love you. Kamilia.”Hara, who was also an MC for the concert, tweeted, “Kamilia, did you all get home safely? Get home safely~ sleep in tomorrow! Everyone! Thank you so much for coming today, I kept an eye on all of you from afar and felt so proud! Sleep well! Muah~”Lastly, Jiyoung wrote, “Through my eyes, I only saw the pearl peach colored balloons, and with my ears, I only heard the voices of our Kamilia. Thank you so much. I really didn’t think that so many people would come… let’s last together until the end and enjoy ourselves! I love you, my people! Ah~ I feel awesome!! Yeah~♥”

KARA’s Goo Hara drew much attention with her witty interview pictures.
On May 26th, Hara uploaded pictures through her Twitter, tweeting, “I attempted an interview on KARAtv! Ang-ee, Pang-ee, Kking Kkang-ee, Bok Shil-ee, Chi No.”Hara uploaded pictures of each of the KARA members’ dogs and attempted to ‘interview’ them by placing a mic in front of the dogs, drawing much laughter from netizens.
Netizens replied, “Journalist Hara Goo”, “Totally cute”, and “When will the interviews of those ‘kids’ air?”

                                

 

KARA’s Goo Hara delivers a stunning pictorial for ‘Elle’

In a stunning new pictorial for ‘Elle‘ magazine, KARA’s Goo Hara transformed into a Bohemian muse from the ’60s.

Hara’s look combines the spirit of Woodstock hippies and the rock ‘n roll freedom that the decade is known for. Makeup artist Jungsaemmool revealed that she was influenced by illustrator Kelly Tunstalin creating Hara’s retro palette.

To give depth to the style, she purposely chose mismatched colors for her makeup, and coordinated an ethnic dress and bold bangles to complete the hippie look.

“2011 Dream Concert” releases its final line-up of performing artists

On May 16th, the Korea Entertainment Producers’ Association released the final line-up for this year’s “Dream Concert“.
Representatives revealed, “We have finalized and confirmed a total of 24 different teams. KARA, who recently came to a compromise with their agency, will also be joining this year’s ‘Dream Concert’.”The final line-up includes TVXQ, KARA, SHINee, B2ST, 4minute, 2PM, F.T. Island, f(x), G.NA, miss A, Kim Tae Woo, Seo In Kook, SECRET, SISTAR, IU, Rainbow, After School, U-KISS, Eru, K-Will, Jewelry, T-ara, 5dolls, and Flower.
Since 2011 marks its 17th year, the Dream Concert will be held at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on May 28th at 6:30 PM KST.
Representatives went on to reveal, “Since we began ticket sales on April 7th, we’ve received over 100 phone calls a day. The official homepage for ‘Dream Concert’ also crashed on the 3rd and 7th, and with 20 days still left to go, music fans have been showing explosive interest in the concert.”

KARA’s Gyuri shares a tearful story about her grandma on SBS’s “Strong Heart”

KARA’s charismatic leader, Gyuri, recently shed tears while talking about memories of her grandma.
She appeared on May 24th’s broadcast of SBS’s “Strong Heart” and shared her story about how she couldn’t be at her grandmother’s side when she passed away.
The idol stated, “When I was little, my grandma was very scary. I found out later that she was like that because she was worried about her granddaughter that debuted at an early age. She loved seeing me on TV, but in 2010, right before our Japanese debut, she was hospitalized. I only talked to her on the phone and asked how she was doing, and she was just worrying about me and said that she was fine. I couldn’t even see her because of our Japanese debut preparations.”
She added, “Even after completing our showcase, we were still busy in Korea. I found out later that my grandma passed away on the day of our showcase. My parents purposely didn’t tell me. They didn’t tell me because they thought I would be affected and wouldn’t perform well and ruin our Japanese debut.”
Gyuri shed tears while saying, “I feel so much guilt for not having gone to see her, and I would’ve been so much comfortable if I went and saw her before we went to Japan. I was very pained when I thought about how much she missed me. I don’t really talk about myself and I didn’t even talk about this anywhere else.”
Group mate Hara said, “I know about this now but I didn’t know about it at the time. I found out about it much later.”

KARA reveals their plans for 2011

KARA will be returning to the Korean music scene in the fall.
According to DSP Media, KARA plans to greet their Korean fans in September with a new album. If the album is released as scheduled, it will be their first Korean album in 10 months, following after their 4th mini album, “Jumping“.
On May 24th, a DSP representative revealed,
“Though it might change due to album activities in Japan, we plan to release an album in September or October. In order to repay fans for having made them worry, KARA will return with an upgraded image. Currently, the members are continuing to receive vocal lessons and dance practice in order to improve themselves, even amidst their solo schedules. In particular, KARA has matured due to their experiences during their Japanese activities.“
Meanwhile, KARA will be performing at the “2011 Dream Concert“. This will mark their first Korean performance together since their lawsuit controversy from January. A DSP Media representative stated,
“In order to prepare a special performance, they’ve made a new remix of their song and have changed the choreography as well. They are preparing for the ‘Dream Concert’ performance with nervousness and excitement.“
KARA will be releasing their 3rd Japanese single in late June and will be leaving for previously-arranged promotions in early June. Filming for the music video have already been filming Korea and Thailand

KARA’s Goo Hara talks about her relationship with Shindong

KARA’s Goo Hara apparently knew Super Junior’s Shindong from way back in the day.
While guesting on the SBS variety program ‘Strong Heart’, Goo Hara confessed, “I knew Shindong before debut.”
She began, “When I was a trainee, Shin Dong walked me to a subway station.”
Goo Hara explained, “Shin Dong originally offered me to buy me dinner, but when I declined, he said he’d walk me to a subway station.” She added, “I guess he liked me as a little sister.”
Guests on the show, however, questioned Shindong’s intention by saying, “You don’t walk someone somewhere because you like her as a little sister.”

Seungyeon invites you to KARA’s fan meeting

KARA’s Seungyeon revealed her whereabouts through her Twitter.

She tweeted, “June 11th! Let’s make a good memory together. Lots of people please come and play. We are finally meeting this way. Please be careful of the common cold that is going around!”

In the picture, Seungyeon is wearing a pair of sunglasses and showing off her cute charm. She also tweeted, “I didn’t want to wear a hat, so I’m wearing a pair of sunglasses that fit well on me – which is rare – and playing celebrity! It became summer all of a sudden.”

Meanwhile, on June 11th at 6pm, KARA will be holding their second Korean fan meeting called, “What We Want to Say Now…“. The fan meeting is being made out to be a mini concert, returning the love that fans have shown KARA through thick and thin.

KARA members’ dogs unite!

KARA’s Goo Hara revealed her fellow group members’ pet dogs!

On May 11th, Goo Hara wrote on her Twitter, “Chino, Ang E, Kking Kkang, and Mocha finally met. This is a hectic dog’s world, we’re just watching and laughing..hehe It’s sad that Jung (Kang Ji Young)dogs aren’t here with us.”

In this picture, there are 4 dogs leisurely playing on top of a sofa. Ang E is Goo Hara’s dog, Mocha and Chino is Nicole’s dog, and Kking Kkang is Park Gyuri’s pet dog.

Netizens who saw this picture stated, “This is so lovely” “The dogs have a good relationship with each other!” “The cute dogs are the same as their owners!”

KARA shows tears on preview of next week’s SBS’s “Strong Heart”

Recently, a preview of the members of KARA guesting on SBS’s “Strong Heart“  featuring the girls crying their hearts out over the past few months of controversy was aired at the end of the latest episode.

The girls came together for their first Korean activity since their “Jumping” promotions five months ago in support of fellow member Hara’s role in SBS’s “City Hunter.” 

Although they were able to liven up the atmosphere with their sweet dances, it was obvious to all that they weren’t able to hide their many wounds caused by the contract dispute earlier this year. The girls burst out into tears as they reflected back over the past several months.

Seungyeon stated, “So many things have changed in just a few months,” while Hara added, “A lot of misunderstandings came about.”

It was leader Gyuri that showed the most tears, however, as she said, “I had no one to turn to.”

KARA’s Hara sleeps with somebody special in her bed!

On May 19th, KARA’s Hara uploaded the picture through her Twitter, tweeting, “Today I slept in with Pang”.

With her face still a little swollen from just waking up, Hara made a cute pose while hugging her puppy,Pang. Even next to a tiny, cute puppy, Hara was able to show off her superior cuteness – melting the hearts of male fans everywhere.

Netizens commented, “A puppy is hugging a puppy”, “Did you sleep long? Your face is a little swollen”,and “Your swollen face is pretty too.”
